The Bosch GLL40-20G Self-Leveling Cross-Line Laser projects visible green laser lines, which are up to 2X brighter than standard red beams. The tool has a working range of up to 40 Ft. and offers reliable accuracy of +5/6 in. at 30 Ft. It features Bosch-exclusive VisiMax™ technology, which monitors tool temperature and power consumption to deliver the brightest line for the job, optimized energy efficiency and long-term tool reliability. The cross-line laser is also equipped with a Smart Pendulum System allowing for automatic self-leveling and indication of out-of-level condition, as well as pendulum lock for safe tool transport. The included MM 2 Flexible Mounting Device provides a rotating 360° neck for quick setup and simple fine-tuning allowing for the laser to be clamped onto virtually any surface from 1/2 In. to 2-1/4 In. thick.

Deceptive advertising

The ad for this laser level shows it being used at an angle. Even the Operating and Safety Instructions show the instrument used at an angle on page 4. But in reality this cannot be done without the laser lines flashing. This is deceptive.

MM2 Mounting Device Broke 1st Use

Bought this laser level about a year ago. Laser works fine, MM 2 mount broke with first use. No excessive force, just used as normal. Contacted Bosch, they told me to send them a # located on the level which I did. Never heard from them again. If you need the base (which I do) do not buy a level with this type mount.

Laser OK - Mount Broke

Would Not Recommend

Bought this laser level about a year ago. Laser works fine, mount broke with first use. No excessive force, just used as normal. Contacted Bosch, they told me to send them a # located on the level which I did. Never heard from them again. If you need the base (which I do) do not buy a level with this type mount.

Works pretty great if you bother to read the manual. Which clearly is the reason people don't seem to get it. I believe you have to start out within 4 degrees of level. No it's not the Hubble Telescope. Compound, neck breaking angles are tough at this price. Adjust. Don't tighten it down until it stops blinking. Hold it steady and tighten. Works.

The Bosch self leveling green laser was bright enough to see clearly even when used in bright daylight. I like my Bosch in red, but my new green is a definite upgrade. Well worth the money.

Green laser light

Nice compact design. Seems like it has no more than maybe 4 feet of visible line. Lightly visible line at about 6 feet from wall of the house. I’m sure it would work better inside the house. It’s definitely useless outside.

You can’t angle the laser up or down so you can’t use it for floor tile or walls. The unit must be perfectly level so if you are trying to project a horizontal line on a wall the laser must be the same height. If you are laying floor tile the laser must be on the ground. You can’t mount the laser on a tripod and point the line towards the floor. The laser will be out of level and continuously flash.
