Remote very thin, has no display and for someone with vision problem it is un usable. so far have not been able to find a universal remote to replace original one.

not as advertised
my wall ac went out. I'm on ssdi and can't afford to replace it. so to just to be able to bear the heat I bought the black and decker 5000 but ac I only have 1 window that slided up abd down and it is small over my sink. so I had to look for a front open for filter cleaning ac as no room to pull from side. pics show a front opening grill. well it's in the side. I'm in south Louisiana and I have been suffering as I could get to store to buy so had to wait for delivery, just to get an ac I can...
Suggestions.
AC works fine, the only improvement would be for the control panel to be easier to read. The printing is light, on a light background? You're just going to have to memorize what each function is in the instructions, as you can't read them on the panel very well.

Coolest room in the house
Great to have on had hurricane season! Runs well with our generator and keeps most of our house cool without power! Otherwise it keeps our bedroom extra cold at night. Great unit.

Great cooking, but a little loud
Love all the features and how quickly it cools the room down. I just have so much noise from 4 kids that I wish this was a little less noisy so my brain wasn’t on overdrive. This is total preference and does not impact the quality or efficacy of the unit.

Why does this Black + Decker unit look exactly like and have the same specs as the Commercial Cool unit that cost $8 less? Knockoff?
