Great Insert, But....
I would recommend with a warning. The insert looks great installed and really puts out the heat. The only reason I cannot give it 5 Stars is naturally, now that it has been in use for a year and past warranty, the pilot has turned out to be faulty. It will not stay lit and when lighting the fireplace it turns off after just a minute or two and so you relit it again and usually again before it will stay on which occurs when there is enough heat built up for the fan to turn on. I got the propane version since I don't have NG at my house. This was the only insert I could find that would throw the amount of heat it does (up to 34000 BTU) in a size that would fit my fireplace opening. This includes the higher end inserts I looked at. While it is definitely not fancy looking with a glass front and all the multi-burner controls of the higher end inserts and finding optional accessories is difficult like a remote and thermostat control, it suits me just fine.
