I used the AMES Super Primer for a few different projects around the house, and it worked great! It goes on smoothly and dries clear, which I really liked. Really nice, dare i say super, primer

This is a really nice primer. It has easy to follow instructions, applies easily with a standards brush. Goes on with a milkly white appearance making it easy to see where it was applied and driers clear.

Ames Super Primer (Clear Acrylic Primer)

I recently used the Ames Super Primer Clear Acrylic Primer and wanted to share my experience. When applied, it goes on thin and has a greenish-blue tint, but it dries clear. At first, I thought it was too thin to be effective, but once it dried, its presence was clearly visible, you can see in my photo. It really does its job well. Not what I expected. Primer is extremely thin. So thin, you will not make it from the can to the application without dripping in between. According to the instructions, this is designed that way to be able to penetrate better into porous surfaces for better protection. I was not able to use for the original intended purpose, but I found another use that will hopefully be reliable.

Great product

I'm a crafter so I used this on a cement block. Painted on a thin layer and let it dry. Took less than 10 minutes and it felt slightly tacky to touch. Covered it with a paper napkin and painted it again with another coat of primer. This will go outside so I wanted it to be sealed for weather. Seems durable. Worked so well prepping my floor!

I used this to prime my cheap, glued down linoleum that was also glued to the concrete in my laundry room! It made the floor nice and tacky, so when I put down my cheap (but nicer looking) peel and stick flooring, it adhered SO well! Images show the before, after application and finished job!

good primer

primer went on without any problems. first coat covered decently, but needed a second coat on a few spots. paint cleaned off my brushes without any problems.

Thin, may need multiple coats for sealing.

This was marketed as basically a primer for any material. Concreate, metal, wood, etc... However, the instructions speak more about adding it to a concrete mix to help adhesion, rather than a surface coat. I tried it with wood and found it was a very thin watery mix, that did seem to make the surface more smooth and less gritty than an unprimed surface, but also seemed to make the paint apply with more streaks.
