Bring Back The Old Version

I will start by saying that the old version of this U-channel would be rated 5 stars. I began buying it from Lowe's earlier in the summer of 2026 and grabbed every stick that was available until last week. It was a nice, thick material with a glossy finish that grabbed onto the edges of the taped poly panels and stayed. (The glossy old version is on the right in my attached photo.) This was part of a panel system I bought for one of my greenhouses. And I must say, I do recommended these products. The panels and all the accessories are worth the purchase!

Handy piece

I upgraded my catio with a clear roof so thatbthe cats could habe more light than the wood roof it had before. It turned out to be a great upgrade and easy to do in my own. Cutting down the piece to the lenth i needed was easybto do with a little jigsaw I had on hand.

Finishes off the edges and provides stability

I used a few of these U Channels to finish off the edges of some clear polycarbonate panels on a small patio cover, and they did exactly what I needed—cleaned up the edges and added a little extra stability. The fit is snug but that’s what you want to keep dirt, bugs, and moisture out of the flutes. I ran a little bead of clear silicone inside each one before sliding them on, just to seal things up for the long haul. Once on, they stay put.
