A sturdy toilet seat, hinges could be better

Would Recommend

In particular, we were interested in a toilet seat that, when closed, could be sat on like the seat of a regular chair in order to do other personal hygiene tasks, especially foot care. The solid wood seat holds up to such use and the weight of a tall adult man. The glossy finish stands up to wear and is easy to clean. The slow-close hinges do what they say - no banging of the seat when you let it down - but this is the second of these seats we have purchased in two or three years, and I wish th...

Bought 2, both broke in short tim

Would Not Recommend

Poor design. The first one lasted about 3 months. The replacement lasted a little over a month. Both had the same issue of one of the hinges freezing up so the lid twists when you close it and snaps the hinge. Trying to find the warranty on Lowes.com and request a replacement has been impossible; it judt shows me the tracking info when I start a return and there are no other options. Now going through American Standsrd for warranty and am unable to use this toilet unless I buy another seat....

Poor Qulity

Would Not Recommend

The holes on hinge on seat are drilled too large and just filled with putty. Wishing 24 the screws fell out into the toilet.

Easy close lid

I really enjoy the self close lid and the white finish is very smooth. The oval shape is a bit short for my particular toilet.
