The most wonderful time of year just might be when you’re decorating your home for the holidays. Poinsettias (Euphorbia pulcherrima) are universally recognized expressions of holiday cheer — easy and beautiful ways to communicate the celebratory spirit of the season to friends, family, and neighbors. This four-pack of live poinsettias in 1.30pt pots will allow you to adorn smaller spaces with the gorgeous, Christmassy star-shaped bracts that surround the small yellow flowers, with handsome green leaves below. This showy red pageantry lasts throughout the season. Would look perfectly appropriate for the season as a table centerpiece. Also known by the names Christmas star, lobster flower, and flame-leaf flower. Native to Central America, poinsettias were introduced in the United States by avid amateur botanist Joel Roberts Poinsett, the first minister to Mexico. December 12 is Poinsettia Day, marking the death of Poinsett in 1851. Keep in bright light to filtered sun and away from cold drafts. Allow the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings and never let the plants sit in water.
