Buy different screws
The attaching screws come with button caps. The screw head is too big for the cap and you have a 50/50 chance of the cap closing and a 50/50 chance the cap lip will be damaged in the process. My son-inlaw bought them and had the same exact issue last year ... Buy 3" stainless countersink and that will fix the issue. Lowes really shouldn't be selling these shutters that cause this potential headache
