Metal Roof Venting Improved

Added it to my metal roof ridge cap. Existing vents under the metal roof ridge cap became clogged. Cut vent slots into existing ridge cap, painted and installed the new ridge cap on top of the existing cap. Worked perfectly, allowing heat to escape.

Poor Design

In my opinion, this is a poor design. The only way to fasten this ridge vent is by nailing in the bottom of the "trough" on both sides of the vent. There are drain holes in the sides of the vent, but inevitably there's going to be some pooling water in the trough in heavy rains. So then you have a row of holes in your roof around the nails with a puddle of water on top of them -every time it rains. Other ridge caps end with 2 nails exposed, or none if you use adhesive for the last piece like you...

Do not buy this product unless gauge increased

Very thin gauge of material, not really suitable for a roof ridge. Box and contents arrived mangled/crushed.

Roof ridge vent Section

Very high winds some 2 weeks ago re- sulted in an outside section of ridge vent being torn off my roof on north end. I noticed a furnace cover laying on ground early next morning and immed- iately called for roof inspection. No covers were missing, but section of ridge vent lost to high winds. Found perfect vent at Lowe’s in 8 ft length and fixed problem before noon. Yeah!

Air Vent Lacked end caps.

Wanted to replace my similar vent on 12'x12' shed I built in mid '80s while I replaced roof with new shingles. Old vent & roof had recently taken a 'hit' from large tree limb in storm. The new/replacement vent did not come with end caps and I returned to Lowes to find out this store did not carry the end caps. Instead I went to (2)- 4' vents that get shingles nailed to top. Little more $$ & labor, but actually looks better.

Product is cheap in price but flimsy. Rubber end caps are not ideal for long term sealing.

Good Price; Great Reliablity

Had these put on my original roof 30 years ago. Putting on new shingles and replaced the Air Vents but they didn't really need it, still fully functional. Great Product and good price.
