Worked well on first use, much better than my old one. Directions weren't the clearest, much easier using the agri-fab assembly video from youtube.
Directions are terrible
If I didn't know what I was doing, I would have been totally lost. The directions are often confusing and misleading. The directions don't match the parts received.
Only good if you are handy.
Fairly heavy duty, but has a major design flaw. The shear pin (actually just a cotter pin) used to connect the drive axle to the spreader gear is woefully weak. After loading a 25 lb bag of fescue seed in the spreader, the drive wheel skidded along for a bit then the cotter pin sheared off. I fixed it with a nail temporarily but will need a better pin eventually. Customer service was cordial, and they sent me a replacement axle assembly and wheel. Unfortunately they look identical to the one...
The assembly sent is going to look like the original assembly, hopefully with out the issues.
Makes life so much easier
Being 83YO it was getting difficult to push the old spreader. But now, the new pull behind spreader makes life easier & keeps me out doors enjoying our Florida weather..
Very Badly made American product.
Assembly is a nightmare as instructions are not clear and the parts explanations are poor. Materials used in making this spreader are also poor and design is too complex and could be made much simpler. As to usage, the control bar for the distribution is too long for the body of the unit and upon using it the first time on my riding mower, I closed the distribution guide and it broke when closing because it is made of then cheap plastic. Assembly exasperating, product could be better
I recently purchased a 130# tow spreader and can only, objectively, give it a two star rating as it works but just! I have assembled many pieces of garden equipmemt in my lifetime but this one takes the cake for length of time required for assembly. A driving wheel secured by a cotter pin is inadequate and the hopper profile is not really condisive to easy fertilizer flow.
