Ames Safe-T-Deck® is a granulated, water-based, tough, acrylic deck coating for wood and concrete exterior surfaces - It dries to a textured, slip-resistant, matte finish that is barefoot-friendly.
It applies smoothly and evenly to wood and concrete and Safe-T-Deck is a durable, pedestrian traffic, slip-resistant paint that provides added traction as well as beauty to the surface it is applied to.
It is ideal for: Old Dimensional Lumber Decks, Porches, Patios, Ramps, Outdoor Stairs, Steps, Walkways, Sidewalks, Roof Decks, Boat Decks, and more.
Safe-T-Deck is a thick paint with great coverage, ready-mixed, low odor, and is easy to apply with a brush, roller, or drywall hopper sprayer - makes your water cleanup, environmentally friendly, and low VOC.
It is available in White, as well as 4 stock colors (Khaki Tan, Greyhound, Coco Brown, Stormy Sky)
For best long-term protection, we recommend priming with Ames Super Primer

A thick and tough paint
This is the thickest paint I've ever used, so thick that it nicely fills in the gaps in the wood grain on my deck and stairs. It's very easy to apply given the thickness and dries fairly fast although I gave the second coat a solid 24 hours before walking on the surface. The anti-slip material is very noticeable so I'll be interested to see how this performs with rain, snow and ice. Perfect fit for my back steps
Needed a product to make my backyard steps less slippery for my older puppers. It was especially easy to apply with a brush. It provided a great grip for the four footed critters and two footed when the steps were dry and wet. Definitely recommend using this product in a well ventilated area with plenty of fresh air.
