Horrible quality and even worse customer service
Bought a 50 gal 9 year warranty tank 4 years ago, yesterday the tank ruptured and was spewing water. Was within warranty so took it back to Lowes. Nobody could figure out how to process a return. Said you have to call AO Smith and NOT to uninstall it until they say it's okay. Spent an hour on hold trying to get an RA number while at the store. Major failure on both Lowes and AO Smith's part. Didn't help that the rep at AO Smith was the most rude person I had ever spoken to. Will NEVER buy...

Packaged damaged
Be careful. The box may be in perfect condition but they apparently package damaged units with big dents in the bottom. You won't know until you've got it home and then you have to get it all the way back to the store to exchange for another one
