Like many other reviewers, my compressor failed pretty quickly and the unit flashed ECC error. Tech support recommended restarting it and I did, and it did it again and I called again. Then they sent me two mother boards to see if that would fix it. Multiple Failures

I was pretty excited to realize the savings from the HP WH. Unfortunately, my first unit failed shortly after 1 year (compressor) and the replacement is now leaking. There clearly is a workmanship/quality issue with these units. I can see from the other reviews that I am not alone. Unfortunately, the Lowes service plan and AO Smith warranty don't seem to offer a refund so I can go back to an all electric unit or a different manufacturer's product.

Good heater if you only have 6 months to live

I really was looking forward to the efficiency of a heat pump water heater. Unfortunately it only lasted 6 months. Warranty replaced it (another big hassle) and the 2nd one lasted 6 months. Beyond disappointing

We had the heat pump portion of two of these water heaters fail within 30 months of purchase. There is a systematic problem

Signature 900 50-Gallon Tall 10 year limited warra

Failed after 1.5 yrs. 10-year limited warranty - I don't even know what that means. Manufacturer supposedly arranged a return back to store for me, so that means I'm having to uninstall this myself, take it back to Lowes by myself, get store credit. Which is better than nothing. However, I paid $1,300 bucks for this defunct thing, and its current price is $1,950. Which means I can't even buy one anymore. Avoid this product.

Aosmith hybrid failures

I installed 19 50 gallon Aosmith hybrid hot water heaters in Holliston Ma. 10 of them have failed within two years. This product has systemic failure. Aosmith has done everything they can to not support the homeowners and fighting a huge Missouri company is impractical. Using this product is a mistake.

Heat pump does not maintain temp

Do not buy. Nothing but problems. The hybrid mode can't maintain temp so u might as well get a standard one

So far it's been working 9mo. 6days

Received March 30,2023 move in house in April set it up and forget it. It's about time to clean filter.
