The gas actuator on mine started to leak gas when it heats after four years. The linkage still functions, but there is gas leaking from within the body. Simple part replacement with a single retention screw and one supply line connection you'd think. Come to find out this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer so now I am supposed to return the whole hot water tank to Lowe's to replace it. I assume the design has changed or something, but returning a whole water heater over this simple p...

Great Price
I bought this product to replace a similar water heater that was 22 years old. So far so good. Produces hot water faster than the old unit. There were some "burn in" smells in my garage for the first week after installation. Some may have been from the soldering of the copper water pipes. Now I dont' smell the odors.

Simple controls, easy installation.
Curbside pick up was easy. The associate who loaded it into my s. UV was courteous and efficient. The water heater is fine. Unlike the newer models, it has a mechanical gas valve: no electronics. I like this as there's less to go wrong. Plus since it doesn't plug into electricity, we'll have hot water even during an extended power outage.

Gas leak
I bought this water in June 2022. After using it for 2 year, the control value starts having gas leak and I can smell it inside the house. Also, there is an issue with the heating. It overheated and tripped the sensor and turned off the pilot. The water heater is only 2-years old but has had multiple issues.
