Easy to install but drain plug is cheap
Seems like a well built and quality water heater. When the installer lifted it and dropped it into the pan, the black plastic drain valve cracked and broke off, which was frustrating. Luckily, my installed happened to have a copper drain valve and he replaced it. I'm shocked that such a high quality heater would have a cheap and brittle drain valve. Other than that, it was easy to install.

Stay Away from AO Smith! Won't honor 9yr warranty!
Installed this 2 years ago. Customer called back saying they have rusty water in hot side only. Anode rod was gone and tank started to rust. Called AO Smith warranty and they said replace anode rod. I said the "glass" lined tank look like it had rusted inside when I scoped it with my camera. They said basically too bad it's not our issue and it's a water issue. Really? Because they didn't have rusty water with their 30yr old water heater before! Now they do with a 2yr old water heater? Never buy...
