Great, once cheaper, alternative.
My lowes was selling these for $46 a sheet. Now at $66, I am going to buy the birch for slightly more. At $46 it was a great value. Coloring is beautiful when oiled. Seems decently hard so I turned it into cabinets and a miter station Top.
Verified Pro
Nice to work with. Didn’t have the chipping problem that others had. It’s good for shop cabinets but I wouldn’t ever use it again for a piece of indoor furniture. It accepts paint very poorly. I had 4 coats of a paint/primer paint on and it looks like i stained it.
Good value
This was used for a shop project. No warpage, stable material. Good value for the price.

Great product for the price
Of course, you can spend much more money on a top-quality birch cabinet grade plywood but for the price this product is great, especially for paint grade products. We have bought over 50 sheets of this product in the last 60 days and have only had a sheet or two that have had any defects. While I liked the blondewood plywood better, this is not bad either.
only when there's nothing better to be had...
as a woodworker, i've bought my share of birch plywood for cabinets. now that birch is so scarce, you have to prepare for cheaper substitutes...that said, you'll have to adjust the way you work with this "sumauma". the veneer is super thin, tears & chips easily even with a new diablo 50 tooth combo blade. i'm only using this plywood for shop stands; i'd NEVER use it for a piece of furniture for the house. not even suitable for drawer boxes. local store stacked 30 or more 1/2" full sheets with ...
Low quality plywood.
I opted to try this over the birch which is what I have always bought from Lowes and used for cabinets. The birch is getting ridiculously expensive so I figured plywood is plywood. Wrong. I will just spend the extra money next time. In the end when you’re making something to last for years you should be able to easily justify an extra $20 a sheet. Lesson learned. This stuff is cheap, it splinters and delaminates to easily. The worst part of this brand of plywood is that it warps badly. I...
