  • Fine-tooth handsaw
  • Fine-grit sandpaper
  • Grapevine (available at crafts stores)


  • 2 - 1/2-in. dia. x 48-in. poplar round dowels (#19382)
  • Anchor Wire floral wire (#81999)
  • Anchor Wire galvanized steel wire (#52687)
  • Holiday Living 100-count clear string lights (#152052)

Step 1

Cut two 48-in.-long dowels down to five 14-in.-long pieces. Sand the ends of the dowels smooth.

Step 2

Arrange the five dowel pieces in a star pattern, securing the dowels together using floral wire.

Step 3

Wrap galvanized wire and grapevine around the star.

Step 4

String clear mini lights around and through the star. Then it's time to shine!
