Instructions

Step 1

Download and print the House Gift Tag pattern and stencil. Cut out the house shape and trace the shape onto a piece of wood veneer.

Step 2

Cut out the shape of the house with a ruler and straightedge. Use that veneer piece as the pattern to trace a second house on the back of the veneer sheet and cut it out.

Step 3

Stack the cutouts with the adhesive sides together and use an iron on the cotton setting to heat the adhesive and bond them together.

Good to Know

Iron the veneer with fabric scraps or old towels above and below the veneer to keep the adhesive from sticking to your iron or ironing board.

Step 4

Cut out the shaded areas of the pattern to create a stencil. (Use spray adhesive to mount it on stiff paper, if necessary.) Apply paint to create the door and windows. Press lightly with your brush to keep the paint from being forced under the stencil edges.

Step 5

Use a hole punch to make a roughly 1/4-inch hole near the peak of the roof and attach the finished tag to your present with ribbon or twine.
