Cut two 10-inch x 10-inch pieces of vinyl flashing. Take one of the squares and -- with the glossy side down -- find the center of each side. Draw a 2-inch line in from the edge and cut.
Lay your ruler diagonally on the square from corner to corner. Score firmly between corners with the back of your knife blade -- being careful not to cut through the flashing. Do it again with your ruler positioned on the opposite diagonal.
Place your ruler between the end of one of the 2-inch cuts you made in Step 1 and a corner along the same edge. Score diagonally and repeat for the other corner on that edge. Repeat on the other three sides of the square.
Flip the square over so the glossy side is up. Score from the end of one of the 2-in cuts you made in Step 1 to the cut line on the opposite side. Repeat with the other two cut lines.
Keeping the glossy side up, fold the corner-to-corner creases you made in Step 2, pinching along them to create creased ridges.
Flip the star over again. Fold in along the scores you made in Step 3 to create flaps, pressing the glossy surfaces together.
Adhere the sets of flaps together with a hot glue gun.
Repeat Steps 1 - 7 with the second flashing square.
Using small drops of hot glue, adhere the stars together as shown -- then hang with a string.
