To attach the two pumpkins, punch guide holes in the top center of the large pumpkin and in the bottom center of the small pumpkin. Push the dowel halfway into the top of the large pumpkin, and then attach the small pumpkin by pushing the dowel into the bottom of the small pumpkin.
Draw sleepy eyes on the smaller pumpkin -- the dog's head -- with a marker. Add "freckles" where the muzzle would be.
Cut ear shapes and leg shapes from the felt pad. Attach with pins.
Cut the shelf liner into the shape of a dog coat that will fit your pumpkin.
Add a dog collar where the two pumpkins connect.
Cut a tail shape out of cardboard and attach with a pin.
Choose a spot for your puppy to doze.
