Instructions

Step 1

The concrete tube form may lose its round shape in storage. If necessary, gently apply pressure to restore its round shape. Apply three coats of chalkboard paint to the outside of the concrete tube form and let dry.

Good to Know

If you choose to paint the lids as well, use a specialty spray paint made for plastic. Conventional paint will flake off of the shiny plastic surface.

Step 2

On one end of the painted tube, press a lid against the tube rim until it locks in place. If necessary, use a construction adhesive to hold the lid in place and let dry.

Step 3

Flip the tube over. With the artificial tree folded into its most compact shape (bungee cords can help), insert the bottom end of the tree into the tube until it slides to the bottom. Top the tube with the second lid to keep out dust. Add a design in chalk to the outside to identify the contents.
