Project Resources

Step 1

Mask off the side handle with tape and apply three coats of paint (Mountain Botanical shown) on the sides of the can. Paint the three inside rings of the lid the same color.

Step 2

Apply two coats of a complementary color paint (Purple Davenport shown) to the bottom ring of the container using the crease as a guide. Repeat for the small bead farther up the side.

Step 3

Apply two coats of a third color to the larger bead closest to the rim. Then paint the inside circle of the lid and the handle the same color you'll paint the bone (Frosty Berry shown).

Step 4

Print the dog bone pattern and cut out the design. Tape the pattern to the side of the container and trace the design. Remove the pattern and paint within the lines using the color from the lid (Frosty Berry shown).
