Paint two cedar balls white for the eyes. If you want a nose, paint another cedar ball a contrasting color. Once the balls dry, add pupils using a black marker. Glue the balls to the puppet. Or, glue the eyeballs to springs. Once the eyeballs have dried, glue to the puppet.
Pick your puppet's hair. For long pigtails, use polypropylene rope. Gather about a dozen strands of the same length. Sew them to the center of the puppet's head. Use ribbons to tie off two pigtails. To create a frizzy moppy hairdo, get a few lengths of polypropylene rope and shred. Fasten to the center of the puppet's head using glue or a needle and thread.
Add teeth by cutting two small rectangles of white felt and gluing them to the puppet's mouth. Add a bow tie by cutting out a rectangle of white felt. Cut a second small strip of white felt and glue around the middle of the rectangle to create a bow-tie shape. Glue the tie to the puppet.
To add fuzzy eyebrows, glue cotton balls just above the cedar eyeballs.
Use your creativity to come up with other facial features and decorations. Then put on a show with your new puppets.
