Quick Privacy Garden Plan

Brought to you by Lowe's Creative Ideas

This mix of trees, shrubs, and perennials makes a lovely -- and quick-growing -- screen for privacy or to mask an eyesore. As a bonus, it also attracts birds!

This mixed border makes a handsome addition to the landscape, and it’s filled with easy-care plants that will do their duty quickly. And by “do their duty,” we mean masking eyesores and creating privacy. Oh, and did we mention the garden also attracts birds?

Maintenance is simple. Cut down the grasses and perennials in late winter, and add a slow-release fertilizer to the bed in spring. Water until plants are established. After that, they require little supplemental watering except during drought. The plants in this bed grow best in full sunlight -- at least 6 hours a day.
