Coralbells offer captivating foliage and intriguing flowers for shade and partial shade.

With intriguing foliage, graceful flowers, and a well-behaved disposition, coralbells are a shade gardener’s best friend. The fact that there are so many outstanding varieties of this perennial available seals the deal. Most varieties are related to H. micrantha, H. americana, H. sanguinea or H. x brizoides.

Good companions include: foamflower (Heucherella), impatiens, begonia, hostas, and caladium.

Coralbells do best with light shade and ample moisture. Avoid heavy clay or waterlogged soil. Plant bare-root specimens in spring, container-grown plants anytime. Keep evenly moist. Divide in spring or fall if plants become woody.
