Bend the legs of five tubing hooks so the points are about 3 inches apart.
The actual distance is less critical than making sure the ends of the legs for each hook are the same distance apart. The wider the spacing, the more rounded the look of the star.
Using pliers, squeeze a wire connector until it forms a slight oval. Select two tubing hooks and place them together on a flat surface with a point from one beside the point of another. Insert the points through the oval shape of the wire connector as far as it will go. Then squeeze the connector firmly to hold it in place on the wires.
Repeat to add the remaining three hooks and complete the star.
