Festive Vinyl Luminaries
Using vinyl flashing from Lowe’s, user Denise14 created luminaries to light up a path to her Pennsylvania home in just one weekend. To give the luminaries some Christmas cheer, she added a snowflake design using a template for drilling holes in the vinyl.
Real Tree Alternative
“My wife wanted something different, so I came up with this pallet tree,” user SirRyan says. He used a wooden rod for the center of his handmade Christmas tree. To get the right shape, he then cut holes in the centers of different lengths of wood and stacked them with the largest at the bottom and the smallest at the top.
Recycled Wood Lights
User danielspaniel kept memories of past Christmases alive with this simple project. “Loosely based on the old Yule log tradition, we started keeping a portion of each year’s Christmas tree trunk to turn into these little wooden candles,” he says. A drill and tea lights were all he needed to make these luminous keepsakes.
Whimsical Elf Door
A little inspiration pushed user Pennywise to create this sweet decoration. “I saw elf doors online and was completely charmed by them,” the Pennsylvania resident says. “But I came up with a humbler version for the elf on a budget.” The homeowner bought a potted rosemary tree and decorated it with popsicle sticks, paint, and craft moss.
Customizable Paper Wreath
User DelicateConstruction created this quick wreath to jazz up her front door. “It was so easy and adaptable to any season or holiday that it could be made every month!” the DIYer says. To achieve the look, just cut scrapbook paper and glue it to a simple straw wreath.
