Teacher’s Colored Pencil
Fall is back-to-school time for many families. Reader DelicateConstruction created this teacher gift with a 2 x 4, paint, and vinyl. “You can’t get easier than that!” she says.
User DebJean described our spooky rose wreath as “fun to make.” She says the roses took fewer than 15 minutes to create and that the wreath hung perfect on her door.
Plant for Fall Color
Maintain bright landscape colors into the autumn season with a bed like this one created by user OldsMobileTrees. In addition to the traditional fall colored shrubs, he planted Heptacodium for its fall flowers, and blue spruce because of the colorful evergreen foliage all year.
His planting plan includes:
A) Ninebark (Physocarpus Summer Wine)
B) St. John’s wort (Hypericum)
C) Paperbark maple (Acer griseum)
D) Seven-son flower (Heptacodium)
E) Dwarf Colorado blue spruce (Picea pungens)
Halloween Spider Web House Decoration
User Beaudiford from Texas created a giant Halloween decoration using material from Lowe’s and a dollar store. “The spiderweb was created using several thin PVC pipes nailed to a thick center wood piece.” For the big night, the user suggests adding a spotlight to create a spooky shadow.
Front Door Makeover
Ready your house for trick-or-treaters and holiday guests with a refreshed entrance. “We opted for a beautiful new Therma-tru door and changed out the brass lights with Lowe's Portfolio lighting – ta-da!” says user Sandipity.
