Amazing thermostat! Zero regrets.
I had a more basic wifi thermostat prior to the ecobee and switching to this thermostat was simple yet provided me with so many more options and functions than I had before. Connected to the wifi with nearly zero effort (just had to remember my wifi password) and then it was a breeze to set up. Connected to Alexa which was a nice touch but I may switch to Siri in the future. I have enough Alexa devices around already. It also integrated into my Home Assistant ecosystem with zero issues.

Excellent replacement
I have had this upgraded version for a few weeks since our prior heat pump had to be replaced and this replaced an ecobee lite model we had before. It came with a sensor as well which we didn’t have before. It is working very well and integrates well with Apple HomeKit.

Not smart
My 2nd generation nest was losing support, so I decided to try ecobee because I was frustrated with some aspects of nest. BIG MISTAKE! There's nothing smart about this thermostat - when I leave the house - whether it's for a few hours, or a few weeks - this thermostat has no idea I'm gone, and will continue the set schedule ("comfort settings," it's called) as if I'm still there. Poor products
Had a ecobee 4, over time it just seems to have gotten worse..it's bogging down, slow processor, hard to control volume. Bought newer smart premium model. Company told me the back plate is different, however they are both about the same size or for whatever reason those designers decided it would be a good idea to have the screw holes a different distance apart??? So what if your upgrading like me, hey let's just drill two new holes in the wall for no reason other than some "________" at ecobee...
Great upgrade from basic
Wanted to upgrade our new homes thermostat for a while. Previous owners installed the existing one by an exterior door, on the second floor. I felt like the AC was always running due to false temperature readings. Intuitive, easy, looks good
I am a boomer and kind of miss the days of gadgets that had 2 or 3 control knobs. I replaced my old thermostat because the display was hard to read, complicated, and linked to Alexa. For all it's bells & whistles. this is very intuitive easy to decipher and easy to read display. I would definitely recommend for other seniors. HOWEVER: Set up was a pain. Missing obvious key features
I recently had an Ecobee premium installed replacing a ten year old Nest, and I’m so incredibly frustrated and disappointed with it since it lacks quite a few obvious functions that my *ten year old* Nest had.
