Perfect for what I was looking for!
I purchased this lamp base to with the red/gold shade from to illuminate the dark hallway leading to our downstairs family room. The height was perfect and the gold/bronze base coordinated with the other furnishings in the room, it is heavy enough not to tip, the small footprint I was looking for and when lit it is just beautiful. I did use a 40 led bulb and with the darker shade it is perfect!

3-Way Lamp Base
First, it cracks me up that you request a review TWO (2) DAYS AFTER PURCHASE!! That is not enough time to barely get it out of the package and start to use it. Two to four weeks after purchase would be better to do a review. It is okay, not exactly what I wanted but the store no longer carried the model I had in my living room and this was the closest match for color and size.

Nice lamp- complete with good quality shade
We went to a few big box stores looking for 2 new lamps for the family room. These were very well made with a good quality lamp shade. Its a solid base which is well made. Cheaper lamps have chipping paint but this one does not have that issue. It is definitely worth the price. They have an expensive look for a really good price.

The lamp is made of resin. It is heavy enough not to tip very easily. I used a large shade rather than the medium that was recommended, I think it looks better.
