Multi-use and very pretty
This light is so pretty. The somewhat old-fashioned look is very appealing. It was easy to install. With this light, you can either hard wire it or plug it in and hang it. We chose to plug it in, and I am glad we did. We put it in our dining room where we had previously had another wall light. This one is much bigger, so it sticks out much further than I would like. This allen + roth Swing Arm Wall Sconce has a long reach if you need it. The articulating arm has two metal joints that you can use to change the positioning of the sconce but I wish it also moved from side to side. It is really easy to tighten/loosen the thumb screws to reposition the light. This sconce can either be hard wired or be used with the attached electrical cord. Fortunately, the cord is plenty long. Nice for over a couch, so much nicer to read
I got this for my daughter for her apartment. She didn't have any floor space for a floor lamp or a table lamp, but needed something to make it easier to read at her couch, this worked great! Not hard to install either with a wall plug (which we used) or hard wired into a AC wall box.

Attractive and easy to install
I like that it is easy to purchase and hang. I didn't want to hardwire a lamp, just put on wall and done. It is attractive and easy to position over my bedside table. The glass globe is very heavy so it is a little top heavy. You need to tighten it down very firmly so it doesn't move.
