I usually wait some time to write a review on things and I’m glad I did here because I WAS completely thrilled with this purchase until the ice dispenser stopped working shortly before the warranty was up. Had it repaired through the warranty and not 6 months after that, it stopped working again. Neither the Whirlpool warranty or the repair company were able to help me. The ice dispenser was one of the reasons I purchased this fridge so it’s definitely disappointing.

I can't even get the door open enough to get the icebox out. It would be nice if the shelves had better accessibility. So I guess it's a wait and see if the rest of it is okay

Ice Maker Problems
I bought this model approx. 2 years go. My ice maker will stop working all together for a couple days and then it will start making ice again. Randomly does this. Called for a serviceman to come out to look at it. Will be sometime next week. This is frustraiting!!!

I bought this refrigerator in May of 2023. I was surprised at amount of space this fridge has, not in the best way. It seems that we do not have as much room as we thought it would. But, that is on us. Other than that, we have been happy with it. We did have one of the decorative strips on the door shelf peel away but was about to put it back. Love the design but having problems with ice maker
I had this refrigerator in my previous house and loved it. So, when I moved into my new house, I brought the same refrigerator. In all my years with a built-in ice maker, I've never had a problem. This refrigerator was purchased and installed on August, 2025. Starting about 4 months later, the ice maker stopped working. I use the ice maker everyday. Filter Removal
NEW REFRIGERATOR: USED 5 MONTHS. Filter is very difficult to remove. The online WHIRLPOOL instructions MANUAL FOR THIS MODEL says push the tab to release the housing holding the filter but, really, one must PULL the tab to release. After that the filter cannot be removed, turned. pulled down. It is just stuck so I have to have a service call to be able to change the filter. I also looked at several utube videos but they were different models.

LED lights
In 6 years the LED lights have gone our 4 times and the compressor once, the lights just went out again yesterday, no repairman can answer why this keeps happening, I'm done with this refrigerator. As soon as I can afford it will be replaced.

Last whirlpool appliance I will buy. Pure junk! Waiting until I have saved up enough money to buy a new frig and send this junk to the junk yard. Less than 2 years old, had service within the first year. If you want ice, we hope it is less than 2 8oz cups at a time because you will be lucky to get that much every other day. Customer care don't bother to contact us as our minds are made up. We have brought whirlpool appliances since 1970 - never again - two bad apples in a row is two too...
