Been a weber user for 10 years. Felt it was time to upgrade and considering it was my birthday so why not, my family wanted to gift me something special. To manage room better under our covered patio I decided to get rid of my smoker and weber gas grill. The Searwood XL being advertised as a smoker that can also be used as a grill that reaches 600 degrees! I was excited and with my past experience with weber products I figured id pay the extra money for the brand, for the quality, the support, ...

Weber for life
I got this to replace my heavily used Smokefire that I've had over 5yrs. I didn't have issues that people complained about with the Smokefire so I wanted to get the Searwood because of the rotisserie and griddle abilities. Near the end of assembly I had noticed that the hood had a big dent in it, rather than taking it all apart and returning it, I took my chances and contacted Weber to see if they would do anything about it. After reading reviews from others with issues, I didn't expect much....

Would love to recommend it, but…
I ordered this on 13 June, and as of 6 July I still don’t have it. Nobody at Lowe’s can give me an update on when I will receive it. I’ve called main customer service, they can’t tell where it is, I called the store and waited on hold for 30 minutes until the phone system. The expected pick up date when I ordered it was 2 July, and I never got any sort of notification that it was delayed, so I thawed a bunch of meat to prep for the 4th. All wasted. This is a 1 star for Lowe’s, not the grill. I’m...
Great, but concerning
First off, I love the build quality, the look, and the ease of use. Use I've had Weber grills for decades, so that's who I entrusted with my first pellet grill. It does take quite a while, (up to 30 min), however to get to the advertised 600° for searing, and you don't really see flame like you see in some of the advertised pictures. I did a few short cooks and it performed flawlessly. When I finally decided to do a long smoke on a pork butt, and do it without wrapping, when I got to about hour ...

Nice smoker.
I received this smoker already assembled and delivered by Lowes. They did a great job with that part. The smoker works great and the app is also perfect. it was very easy to set up and the temperature is easy to control. There is only one downside which could also be considered an upside; it makes a lot of smoke. We smoked some ribs for about 5 hours a distance from the house, but could still smell smoke in the house a day or two later. So it's great, but makes a lot of smoke if that bothe...

Bad software programming
First off, the back of the grill was warped. Had to submit a warranty claim. Weber was good about it and sent me a replacement cookbox. After using the grill a few times, I noticed it doing some weird things. The displayed temperature didn’t seem right. I started doing some testing on the grill ( I’m an HVAC technician) with my own temperature meter. I found out that the temperature control of this grill is very poor. The displayed temperature is pretty much worthless. Here are the issues: - T...

Weber Starwood XL Exceeded my Expectations
I did my research and checked out the Traeger Ironwood series, the Reqtec Flagship, and various others and arrived at the Weber. I own a Weber gas and have been very satisfied but I the previous series smoker had some issues. The SEARWOOD XL 600 is spot on was the correct choice. I retired a PitBoss and don’t feel they can compete currently. If you are looking you won’t be disappointed; more cook space, broader temp range, and more smoke flavor for the $$$ than anything else in its price ran...
Service response is poor
The grill itself is well made. Quite easy and simple to assemble. Plugging it in for the first time after filling the hopper with pellets, linking the app with the grill went smoothly. It started to update the firmware, which was expected, but faulted and gave me a “Failed to update” message. So i started the update check again, and the app indicated that the software was the latest version, even though there was still a “Failed to update” message present. I went ahead with the break in smok...

Excellent Purchase
I purchased this smoker 3 days ago. I did the research on other brands in a price range from $1000 to $2000. I was leaning toward the Traeger Ironwood XL or the Recteq Flagship both were more expensive. After reviewing and researching I settled on the Searwood XL 600, I own a Weber gas grill and I am very satisfied but wasn't sure if the smoking was there game yet. The app is user friendly, the smoke boost works great, and it has a wider temperature range. The results were great, the smoke ...
