The cast aluminum firebox and cover are much sturdier that sheet metal housings and are much easier to clean. The quality and design of the burners gives a much more even heat and with the baffles provided I have few if any flare-ups. I got this grill because of how pleased I am with my E-325 grill at our place up north which I have had for a year now.

Not as good as they used to be
Purchased this grill to replace and old E-310 that needed extensive parts. Should have gone ahead and gotten replacement parts if we could. First, as others have pointed out it is open under the shelves exposing wires and the gas line and making an easy entrance for animals. This is also a HUGE safety concern as a small child could easily reach in and grab things as well as touch the cook box and get burned! Come on Weber, fix this safety issue! Very poor design. Same grill, no tank gauge, ignition failed quickly
Replaced the same model we had for years. 3-burner is good size, same features but a better front cover (doors instead of a panel that was awkward to remove), a downside is no propane tank gauge telling how full/empty the tank is. Unfortunately the automatic ignition failed within a couple of months, replaced the battery and checked the wire connections but no clicking...need to use a longneck lighter to ignite the first burner. Disappointing quality.

We were excited by our new grill - it was replaced a ten + year old Spirt grill. The heft and overall quality of the Genesis line was impressive. However, several issues arose and we returned the grill. The first is that it was damaged -- one of the flanges on the handle was badly broken. I purchased this grill on May 28 and opted for assembly before delivery, scheduled for June 5. However, it arrived unassembled. Understanding that mistakes happen, I contacted Lowe’s, and they assured me someone would come on June 12 to assemble it. Weber Genesis buyer for life!
My last Weber Genesis lasted me over 15 years and I hope this one can beat that record. The new grill cooks amazingly even across all burners. I have had a Weber kettle charcoal grill for years but wanted to add a gas grill as well to grill more during the week. I tried 2 other gas grills that I didn’t like. Overall excellent - Had to Replace Leaking Hose
Overall excellent grill providing great service. Had to replace the regulator/hose assembly after about 6 months when it started leaking. Seemed an unusual failure in hose crimp. Had to bend bracket holding hose to loosen for removal (poor design). Was able to easily bend back into shape OK for secure reinstall. They may have included a specialty wrench that would have worked but finding that months later wasn't happening.

2nd time Genesis grill owner, first one lasted 20+ years thought we'd do it again. New grill cooks faster than old grill. Old grill was 2 burners, new one is 3. Surface area much larger.
