This is the second door of this type that I have purchased. One for the old house and one for the new house I moved into. I love the fact that the screen is retractable. I paid to have someone install it and they had no problems. I do feel the handle should be included in the purchase of the door. Storm Door Returned
Unfortunately, the Larson Storm Door and Handle I purchased had to be returned as the door was defective. It would close behind me, and I could not open the door to get back inside the house. I am currently waiting on Lowe's Installation Department to re-order the door and handle. I've had this same model door in another house, and its a very attractive door, and had worked perfectly. Hopefully this return and next installation will be better than the first experience.

Love this door
I love this door. It allows the best of both worlds. In the summer you have the screen and in winter the storm door. I had this installed in my garage and in the summer it allows so much more circulation. It was so hot in there before the door was installed. I have purchased 2 of these and would highly recommend. It is too bad the handle doesn't come with the door. It must be purchased separately.
Brings Outdoors Indoors
We love being able to so easily open and close the screen portion. We truly can bring the indoors into our living room. AND, the step lock to open the door and then easily close it are wonderful. Makes it incredibly easy to bring things in and out.

I purchased these doors several years ago and I love them. I am building a new house and just purchsed 2 more for my new construction. I love the amount of light that comes through, the hidden screen and the easy installation. I highly recomend.

Not happy
Purchased & got it installed end of Mar 2025. Only last a little over than a year. We hardly used the retractable screen. We happened to have a nice breezy day so we pulled the screen down to get some fresh air and the spring mechanism broke. We called Larson on May 26, 2026 and was told a replacement would be shipped out within 7-10 days (they’d send email to let us know). After 7-10 days, we called again (several times) and the latest they said it’d take longer than 10 days. We kept checking e...
door cylinder gives noise when open and close
installed two days ago, Whenever the door is opened, the closer emits a very loud, high-pitched grinding/screeching noise as the rod extends. It appears to be an issue with the internal seals or piston lubrication right out of the box.

So far the door is working well. I had to hire my own installer because Lowe's installers would not install the doir I wanted they wanted me to buy the same door but custom sized for 3 to 4 times that I paid. I even said I would forgo the warranty if they would install the regular door that was in stock. They refused so I hired my own installer. The door i wanted wrnt up perfectly where they said I had to buy the custom door. I tried to send an image it would no go to my photos
