Opened the box and the door was scratched with chips of paint missing. When attempting to install, we found that nothing is pre-drilled and you have to line up everything yourself and drill the holes in the door for all the fittings and hardware. Definitely not self-install friendly. if you spend another $200, you can get the version that is pre-drilled and pre-fitted, ready to install.
Installation Process
First of all the door is great and we love it. The issues we had are with Lowe’s and the install team. We had them measure the door and send us a quote for $200 more than the listed price because they measured wrong and said it was a custom size. When we tried to get in contact with Lowe’s about this they didn’t answer our calls and sent us another quote with a standard door instead of coming out to remeasure. The third party contractor then cancelled the day of the installation an hour before t...
Easy for DIY folks
Measured my opening. It happened to be just right for the measurements they listed. Picked it up along with a nice handle and followed instructions carefully. Had it together and up in a couple hours. You'll need to find that adjustment point for the closers and the door jamb. It works well and doesn't need to slam. Screen feature is also really nice. I will tint the glass myself. I'm glad I got it.
Horrible install experience - fire hazard
I don’t usually do reviews largely because I don’t believe it will make a difference; but this is so ridiculous that I felt I had to. I paid extra $200 to have Lowe’s come out and measure and install storm door. After the initial install, they have come back out 3 times already and the lock on the door still gets stuck and will not unlock. It is a fire hazard. The install person sees that and agrees that it needs to be fixed asap. Lowe’s install dept doesn’t seem too concerned. I have spoken to ...
Terrible Quality Doors
We purchased two of these doors in February 2026 to replace two Pella doors that were 25 years old. Evidently Pella no longer sells storm doors, but we were assured by Lowes that Larson made the Pella doors, so we would be getting the same high quality... Riiight. 🙄 Since February, we've had to have someone come out to fix the doors THREE TIMES! THE ONLY THING WE REPLACED IN THE PELLA DOORS (also purchased from Lowes) WAS THE ROLL SCREENS AND WE WERE ABLE TO DO IT WITHOUT PAYING SOMEONE ELSE...

Installed correctly
Crume Installations did a great job. Eric took the measurements and did the installation. Very professional.
Well made storm door.
My handyman installed this door today. He did not have any trouble installing it. The door is well made. It blends in well with my front door. I added a black handle to match. So far it has exceeded my expectations. In all fairness, I haven’t gone out the door much since it just got installed. I would recommend this door.

Happy so far!!
Went from a solid full view to one with a retractable screen in hopes it will help from getting jacked up by the wind. They recommended i keep the screen slightly open to help it fully close and latch. Fingers crossed.

Broke in less than 2 years
Our door slams shut after less than 2 years. Was informed that the warranty is up and was directed to the website to buy a new part and install myself. Horrible quality product, quick but useless customer service.

Not happy
Purchased & got it installed end of Mar 2025. Only last a little over than a year. We hardly used the retractable screen. We happened to have a nice breezy day so we pulled the screen down to get some fresh air and the spring mechanism broke. We called Larson on May 26, 2026 and was told a replacement would be shipped out within 7-10 days (they’d send email to let us know). After 7-10 days, we called again (several times) and the latest they said it’d take longer than 10 days. We kept checking e...
