Easy to install and program

First I bought the Schlage BE365 with the larger toggle on the front. Programming and getting the key out of the lock was a little vague, so I called Tech Support and they walked me through on how to get the key out of the lock. I spoke to a very nice Lady out of Kansas. She was also able to walk me through adding both of our codes so that my wife and I can unlock the unit. It feels like quality lock nice and solid action.

I had no trouble installing this lock. I already had the deadbolt hole already. Programming is easy as well. I love no key to open the door. It is replacing another older Schlage unit that had a key option. Last one lasted a long time. Hope this one holds up as well.

I bought 4 - 2 worked badly - now I'm locked out

Lock fails to engage despite new batteries. The thing just spins. When I first had problems with the one I installed for my Dad, I finally switched it out with the one on my back door, which is essentially always locked unless I'm out in the yard. So I don't need it to work from the outside. Now the one at Dad's has also stopped working. Love wasting money? You'll love this lock

Like many other reviews, this lock is trash. Due to a very poor design on a spring inside, within a year the lock will fail and just spin. This my second Schlage lock and the same problem persists. Thanks for using cheap parts when it comes to security of my family and my home.

works only sometimes

Same issue as many other folks have highlighted here... sooner rather than later you start having issues with the lock/unlock mechanism engaging fully, therefore the knob just spins. You end up having to enter your code several times before it decides to engage... if you're lucky. Replacing the battery has no effect on this. Not a reliable lock

When it works it's great. Unfortunately, the lock failed to engage when locking the door from the outside which didn't allow you to extend the dead bolt. This was an intermitent problem. I returned the lock.

Hard to see

It looks good. It works well. It doesn't light up so it's really hard to use in the dark. It's really hard to route the battery cable out of the way to get it to close. If I hadn't been in a pinch, I would have bought another product that had a light up keypad that was oil rubbed bronze instead.

Better appearance than functionality.

I bought one of these in November 2021 and was very impressed. However, over the past few weeks, upon entering the entry code, the dial would only spin and "semi" engage the internal lock mechanism. I took it back to Lowes and as it exceeded their return policy of 90 days they would not let me exchange it. Poor quality control

I had this model of Schlage touch on my home for 7 years when it began to fail. The mechanism relies on a couple of cheap springs to allow the bolt to engage. Despite this I decided to purchase a replacement lock to keep things simple with the install. During the install, I attempted to bolt the front and rear of the lock to my door only to find out that the bolt holes were not tapped deep enough making it impossible to complete the installation. I returned the unit and went with another brand.

Stopped working & disappointing customer service

We bought this lock almost 2 months ago. We were replacing the door and thought we'd upgrade our lock too. Loved the idea of keyless.
