Only lasted 4 years and then we were locked out.

Was good while it worked! We have had our Schlage Encode smart deadbolt for 4 years. This thing is beautiful and the metal parts are amazing. Paid premium for this lock expecting it to last at least 10 years. Nope. I bragged to all the friends about this, and now I am eating those words. 4 years is all we got out of it. Atrocious customer service

Constantly disconnects from Wi-Fi, kills the batteries in less than a week, call Customer Support for a replacement under the warranty and they deny your claim.

This is my 3rd Schlage door lock.

This is my 3rd Schlage door lock, I truly love these locks you enter a code and the door unlocks, no looking for the key. This lock I can use with my phone on 2 different apps and unlock the door when I pull up to my house and carry my shopping bags inside. My Alexa app can unlock and lock my door also. The door lock is and was easy to install and setup, enter my codes and it’s ready to work.

GREAT feature rich lock!!

I did a lot of research on many different locks,, this was the best one for my application!! Very easy to install and program. I used the Schlage app which was a breeze to set up and program!! It was one of the few locks I found that has a tapered cylinder so it can pull my door tight against the seal, keeping the elements out!! Quit working

The lock worked great for about six weeks, then it quit communicating with wifi. Shortly after the keypad quit. Changed batteries and the KP worked for a day and quit again. The support number is a ridiculous automated system. Now I'm 19th in the que to reach someone.

Died after 3 months

My last one made it 3 years and started eating through a fresh set of batteries in a matter of days. That was decent for the beach environment so I bought another. Apparently quality has dropped because the new one didn't even make it 3 months before the touch screen stopped responding. No lights or beeps on a fresh set of batteries

Would not buy this product

This lock is a night mare to set up, had the guy that Lowe’s had install my new door put it on, went through the app to set it up and it will not work, and the guy who installed threw away the box so I can’t even return it

Significant issues and poor customer service

This Encode deadbolt worked well for 7 months, but at that point the app wouldn't recognize my login info, and would not allow me to change my password. 2 weeks later the codes that worked the lock previously stopped working. When I tried to reprogram the lock the app would not recognize the lock either by the automatic or manual method. The price for the product is not worth it

Installed it at night and after installation while programming, I realized that there is no lighting mechanism on the keypad. This resulted in the first time you touch it you were actually entering a number that coincides with your numerical entry key code. So if it’s completely dark outside, the first number you hit is potentially going to be the wrong number for your code.
