I have no experience changing door handles or locks and this was easy to follow the instructions and install in just a few minutes.

Triple check when assistants retrieve items

Another lemon by Schlage

This one’s on me, I should’ve learned my lesson by now: Schlage locks ain’t it. We’ve had several locks in the past that have failed for one reason or another. We ordered this one as a replacement for another similar Schlage lock system (keyless) that had mechanical and electrical failures. Unlocks the door when opening the door to exit.

Over all a good entry lock. liked the older version that allowed exiting without unlocking the door. It did mean remembering to always have a key with me. But, the new version does prevent visitors from being annoyed when they locked themselves out. I am not sure I like having my door being left unlocked by visitors. Installation was easy and matches the finish of the old entry lock.

Lock ok. Customer service not so much.

The lock was fine. I bought 3 of these last year online from Lowes. I had the guy in the store key them all the same. So, I bought one more online from Lowes. The dude in the store refused to key it the same as the first 3. He made some excuse about me needing to buy it from the store and not online to have it rekeyed. Middling quality, recommend for interior door only

Purchased online and had delivered to home as an emergency replacement for a broken knob. It's easy to install and looks nice enough. But it's lighter weight and smaller than the cheap knob I replaced. Closet door quality. If I had seen it in person first, would not have bought it. It'll do until I replace the entire door with a better knob.

DO NOT BUY!!

THESE LOCKS CAN BE OPENED WITH THE WRONG CODE EVERY TIME!! I will not explain the steps, but I inadvertently got the lock top open after entering the wrong code and was able to repeat that action every time afterwards with success no matter what 4 numbers I put in.

Schlage has significant quality control issues!

Schlage used to be a high quality lock brand. This lock set came with screws that would not fit because the sleeve was too short - not machined deep enough to take the standard screws. So, this is just poor quality control. BTW, the last one I bought was missing the set of keys. Note: these lock sets are no longer manufactured in the USA!
