Good price/value/quality with excellent re-keying of the deadbolt by Lowe's keying personnel (Ami, I believe.) Although the quality is good, it did not seem as sturdy as the 26 years old unit it replaced.

Full disclosure: I was given this door handleset free in order to product test and write a review. I was very excited to receive this door handleset, as my current door lock -- which is NOT a Schlage lock -- wasn't working properly after 23 years of use and needed to be replaced. Installation

While the instructions are straightforward they lacked a small detail. the bottom hole of the handle required an opening of 1/4 inch requiring the use of a drill. The bolt /screw on the previous Schlage lock was about 5/16 The deadbolt was easy to install; however aligning the bolt required some finesse.

Install tips

Handleset was as expected. Feels solid and well made. I was replacing an older Schlage Handleset so expected an easy process. My old handleset had a screw at the bottom rather than the more secure bolt that the new set has. Had to drill a hole in the door which was required for the bolt. The new set had two types of plates to go around the plunger. Neither matched my old one which was square cornered. The two new ones were round and with rounded corners. It’s pretty but not reliable

I finally got this set installed after months of waiting and it’s been a rollercoaster every since. It took a while for the install because my door had to be modified but after that it was smooth sailing or so I thought. Less than a month in and now I can barely turn the knob on the deadbolt. Since my security depends on the deadbolt, I’ve completely stopped using that door in fear of not being able to secure my house. Classy!

This lock really jazzed up my decorative wooden entry door that is in need of refinishing. The previous lock was a Schlage brass handle set but this brass set is making living with this door tolerable for the time being. I have only purchased Schlage door products as they last for years and years and will continue to do so.

Door handle keeps coming off

The inside door handle comes oriented pointing left and comes with another handle pointing rightward that can be swapped out as needed, which is what I needed. However, this replacement handle will not catch properly and thus constantly comes off when pulling to open the door. Finish & function don't hold up

I work for a door manufacturer, so I know a bit about doors & locks. I installed a new door on the front of my house so I needed a new lock. I have always bought schlage in the past so I didn’t give this purchase a 2nd thought. This has been in place for 2 years. At time of purchase this was one of the more expensive models. Nice replacement handle and deadbolt

I was doing a whole house door handle replacement both interior and exterior. Installation was pretty easy, but even though everything was pretty much a one for one replacement of the deadbolt and handle, I had to enlarge the bottom of the deadbolt hole in the door frame by millimeters. It was odd that it didn’t just fit right in. No worries. Wife and neighbor like the new satin nickel finish. I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Nice classic set, color a bit off.

First I would say that the antique bronze color is not exactly what I would call antique bronze, it is more like a matte black with copper accents around the edges. It is not a bad color, just not what I think of when I think of antique bronze. It is a nice looking set though and the handle itself is pretty hefty.
