With any appliance time will be a factor, but so far I love this dryer. Our dryer recently died and while worrying about how to make the vent fit better for our next model, I learned about heat pump dryers and how much better they are for the environment. And they don't require a vent. This is the most affordable one on the market and since we have a tight space for a washer-dryer, this was an ideal size. It works just fine so far. Good, but

i really like that this dryer doesn't require a dryer hose and vent which is great for my small space. plus it dries loads in a reasonable amount of time. what i don't like is that the heat exchanger area is very hard to clean and the fins bend way too easily when you're trying to gently clean away any lint. plus, the exchanger has developed a damp and moldy smell and i'm unaware of anything i can do to make it go away.

Energy efficient, quiet dryer.

The dryer works very well, it's runs quietly, and leaves clothes fluffy and soft instead of crispy. There are a couple drawbacks the dryer has 2 layers of filter baskets that need cleaned as well as monthly vacuuming of the bottom condenser coils. It also takes a 1/3 longer per cycle compared to standard dryers. Check with your power company because I got a pretty nice credit to my power bill when I upgraded to this set.

Works great.

Does it take longer to dry clothes..? Yes it does. Does it use a lot less electricity than my old electric dryer.? Yes. Even though it takes about twice as long...per load it uses half the electricity. And that's why I bought it. It's been working great, and I'm happy with it. I did add the 5 yr warranty on when I got it, just in case. But so far so good. I wasn't going to pay over $300 for a Samsung pedestal, so I made my own to set it on.

Don't buy if you want to dry your bedsheets!

Bedsheets always wad up into the dreaded "burrito". I literally have to open it every 5 minutes to untangle them. Tried a plastic doohicky to get around it, but it doesn't work. These are the same sheets I had used in a previous dryer, and I never had an issue with them in there — not once.

Great Dryer!

This dryer is very energy efficient and does a great job drying clothes. Being a heat pump dryer it operates a little differently than a standard dryer and requires a little more cleaning and maintenance. The lint filter can be easily vaccumed clean and occasionally washed. The heat exchanger is easy to access and clean. Water can be drained from a removeable tank or pumped directly to a drain. Being ventless it can be intalled just about anywhere in a home.

So many problems

We are already having issues with the dryer AGAIN! They replaced the motherboard but it is still overheating and now it makes a very stressful noise! Of course, the warranty expired on April 30th- just 2 weeks ago. I wish I could upload a video of the dryer making the terrible noise.

Makes a weird noise for a brand new unit

the very first load i put in to dry it made a very high pitched loud noise from the rear that was intollerable. i am hoping it will go away with use but i'm not counting on it. maybe just a tight new belt that needs to get some wear? i don't know. there's no troubleshooting guide. i'm not keen to call. i already returned one drier. eesh. it does dry the laundry though.

Works well until you need a part.

BEWARE !!!!! I bout a Samsung dryer for $1,100 + from Lowes less that five years ago. The dryer now needs a "main board' as the dryer no longer produced heat. The part is no longer made and cannot be substituted. This means I have to throw away the dryer and buy a new one. Samsung distributor told me its common for them to stop making parts a year after making any model. BEWARE OF SAMSUNG PRODUCTS !!!!!
