Rubbermaid Premier 13-gal Charcoal Indoor Step Trash Can w/ Moxie Clean Breeze Drawstring Trash Bags (120ct)

Didn't last a year and replaced with basic unit

Overall its a decent trash can. Not sure its really worth the money as after one year of use the hinge broke so not it cannot open with the foot pedal. Do not see anything about warranty for this. UPDATED: contacted the seller/Rubbermaid. After almost 2 months of not hearing anything, they confirmed they were sending a replacement unit. We received that today April 1st 2025 to find they did not send a replacement unit but just another trash can that was similar but does not have all the feature...

Good Kitchen Garbage Pail

I like the garbage pail a lot. Durable and inside of lid is not metal so you don't have to worry about rusting, as has happened to other pails I have bought. The only draw back so far is the difficulty of draping the garbage bag over the rim. It is very tight and need to use some force to get the last corner on. If using a cheap bag I don't think it will hold up, trying to get it on. I like that the cover opens easily with a foot peddle as well as being able to easily lock it in the open positio...

It was okay..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was needing a new trash can due to mine being to small for my new house so I found this one , after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try and honestly I’m disappointed.. no let’s start off by saying this trashcan was so complicated to put together even with a YouTube tutorial video. It took me a good 15 minutes of trying to figure this out before I got my husband and he even took him another good 10 minutes to try to figure this tras...

Sleek & modern step on trash can

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Rubbermaid Premier Series IV 12.4 Gallon Step-On Trash Can is nice. I like the charcoal color & stainless steel pedal, rim, & lid looks nice also. It took me a couple of tries to get the lid on even after following the instructions & video, but it finally snapped into place. Now I step on the pedal & the lid lifts up & once I take my foot off, the lid slowly closes. With this trash can, you don’t see the garbage bag. The lid overlaps ...

Faulty Designed Trashcan Lid!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always enjoyed using Rubbermaid brand products and have been in need of a trash can. I chose the Rubbermaid Premier Series IV 12.4 Gallon Step-On Trash Can in the color Charcoal. It was nice having the trash can arrive fully assembled. I liked the fact that it contained a step on foot pedal and looks nice sitting in my kitchen, but aside from the beautiful stainless steel aesthetics, has not fully met my expectations as expected. After w...

Not durable with light use

I purchased this can approximately seven months ago. I have opened the lid assembly to change the bag no more than once per week during that time. The plastic frame under the outer lid assembly has already broken, and the lift mechanism for the lid no longer functions fully. This product appeared well constructed when I purchased it, and I have been very satisfied with previous Rubbermaid products that I've purchased for my home and garage. This product does not hold up to those expectations...

Excellent products but needs better instructions

I am giving this 4 stars only because the instructions of putting this together are not intuitive. I found a Youtube video which explained how to install the lid, but then the metal portion would get stuck open when you stepped on the pedal. I was only able to remedy this when I found someone else had the same issue and there was a response to his question (hold the lid down and step on the pedal and the metal rod will then snap into place. This is a great trash can when you finally get it pu...

Kitchen can

I like that the bags fit tight inside, am worried if one of the plastic lips were to break it wouldn’t hold a bag. I like the capacity, it seems to hold more and the opening is wide. I don’t like how hard it is to get the lid on. Sometimes just stepping on the pedal it pops off one side or the other. There is nothing to line it up with, you just have to keep setting it on top and pushing until it decides to seat it self. Sone time just to change a bag it takes 10-15 minutes unless I just giv...

lid doesn't close properly

The lid does not seem to close properly. It seems the metal rod is supposed to click into place on a plastic pice of the lid, but it doesn't and I am unable to push it into place. This causes the lid not to close properly. The QR code directions are worthless because they imply the piece easily falls into place. It is always very irritating when something doesn't work from the outset. If this worked, it would be great.

Design Flaw

After stepping on the pedal too many times I got the lid stem to work. However my issue is I seem to have to stretch the 13 gallon trash bag over the rim to fit. It is snug but the dimensions on the design of the rim could have been a few millimeters smaller. If one of those corner flanges breaks the can is totally useless. This is a $30 can at most.
