Better Mouse Trap Than Most
I feel more secure about protecting my home from penetrations by rodents. The top is very difficult to open; so difficult that I and all Lowes' female associates thought all units had a manufactuerer's defect. As last resort before returning my purchases, I engaged a male associate who also had such a difficult time opening the unit that he almost chalked up the unit as defective. Finally, he chose to potentially sacrifice one unit in the event his biggest effort would break the plastic shell....
Jury is out
So far, no takers of the bait. I have tried adding grains and peanut butter without success after 2 weeks, and offering the baits in different locations outside the bait box. Moisture melts the baits quite easily. My targets are rats and pack rats. I assume they are finding tastier food elsewhere and will continue trying to vary the locations. I have had very good success with RatX and mice, keeping the population down in barn and basement.

Easy Open bait box
Really easy to open bait box. This is a great bait station for homeowners. I would not recommend this for commercial use due to the easy open box and the limited amount of bait that can be on the metal post inside. Great for homeowners. No key to lose. If you owned the other type of bait station and lost your key tool to open, then you know what I am talking about. I bought two of these.
It seems to be a well-designed bait station
I like the size and the baffling inside. The metal rod holding bait is reassuring in that bait cannot be dragged away. I've had considerable rat sign in the area, so I think the rats are chewing the poison as desired. Hopefully I will soon have dead rats to clean up instead of rat droppings.

This is your product. Helps keep the dogs out, but allows the rats to get inside and eat the bait. Makes them want to go get water and not your dogs food!
