Competitive alternative to paper/felt. Recommended
In my application, I was trying to cover the 4'x24' roof of a lean-to shed. The RliaBuilt synthetic roofing underlayment worked very well and I would wholeheartedly recommend this material to anyone with a similar project. There are a number of characteristics that impressed me about the underlayment. First, was the weight of the product while I was trying to maneuver it on top of the structure. This comes in rolls of 250 feet and moving 1000 square feet of material is not going to be easy but ...

Seems to Work Pretty Well
I had originally planned to use this for the roof of a chicken coop, but we ended up doing a metal roof on it. We did use this underlayment as temporary waterproofing inside the chicken coop and it seems to be doing well there, but I can’t pull it up to check until we get the permanent waterproofing. I didn’t feel like that was a fair way to test the product since it’s not the intended use case, so I ended up running a quick test with a scrap piece of OSB and my garden hose. I installed two pie...

A lot cooler to work on then black felt !
RB Synthetic Roofing Underlayment, Just recently started using synthetic underlayment instead of standard roofing felt. A much superior product then 15 or 30 lb black felt. First of all it is lightweight and easier to handle on steep roofs , The grey color is a bonus because it stays a lot cooler to work on then black felt. On a hot day black felt will actualy burn you if you are kneeling on it or sitting on it. This product just gets slightly warm ! You must use plastic button head nails to se...
So much better than #30 felt, you'll never go back
I had a small roof project lined up for the early spring that I was going to use this underlayment on but that got pushed back indefinitely for several reasons including an inability to get materials. I did have a little repair on a shed roof that was overdue so I used some of this synthetic underlayment for that. I have to start by saying this material is so much better than traditional felt. First of all this roll of 10 square weighs about 25 pounds which is a real improvement over the weight ...
You need to try!
I tried this synthetic roofing underlayment because the product I previously used smelled horrible and got so hot on the roof. This product does not have an odor and stays cool to the touch when working with it on the roof. It's easy to put down and has helpful marks to show where to nail. The top surface of this product has a nice grip when you are walking on it so you don't have that slippery feeling. The tear resistant option is fantastic especially when you are doing a roof by yourself and t...
Other uses as well
Although it's not a recommendation from the manufacturer we've found it useful to use indoors as well in-between the subfloor as a moisture barrier. We had some left over from a roof job and gave it a try and it seems to work just as good as the felt paper. #LowesLoop

Noticeably Cooler!
We were replacing our roof, and I knew we were going to run out of our black felt paper part way through. I decided to try the Reliabilt Synthetic Roof Underlayment because my feet were getting so hot while we were working on the roof, I thought we should give it a shot and see if it would make the temperatures on the roof more bearable. Its light grey color really made a difference in the roof temperature while installing it; the grey was also great because it wasn’t so light that it reflecte...
