I wanted to love this smoker/grill but after taking it through its paces with grilling and smoking, it’s going back (thankfully under the 30 day window). The good: temp control is fairly easy to maintain although you’ll need several after market pieces to block off the temp probe from direct heat blast on left side which tells the unit it’s hotter than it actually is, verified with 2 diff sep probes (obvious design flaw Pit Boss) as well as a cover for the fire box so the middle sear grate area ...

There were four Lowes representatives working in the grill area and I asked them if the floor model was the only one they had and they said yes. Features sound great but just need to turn on
When it works, the bells and whistles are nice and it does the job. However, I had it less than 8 months when the control panel issue started acting up and I would have NO power light when the power was at the control panel. It would mysteriously reset when i took fuse out and reseated it. After about 5 more times than that i only used it when i knew i would have time to work on it cause I expected it to not work more often than it would. This is my first pellet grill. Bought a Pit Boss on a recommendation from a buddy who has one (older model, but loves it and highly recommended PB pellet grill) So far it’s worked really well. Piece of garbage
I absolutely HATE this piece of junk!!!!!!!!!!!! No smoke at all! It might as well be an expensive outdoor oven. I called support and they told me to use a smoke tube. That defeats the whole purpose of having a so-called smoker! I shouldn't have to add a smoke tube to get it to do what I paid all this money for it to do. I tossing this piece of crap in the dumpster and buying a Masterbuilt gravity grill. Much better! I'm never buying pitboss again.

Works ok not a lot of smoke. Got ours home and they didn’t tighten the screws down and the shelf is bent. Guessing someone tried picking it up at the store and did it. Could be a little heavier duty

When delivered to my home I spent several hours putting it together. The instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. Unfortunately, the unit was defective. I called the Pit Boss helpline and they were friendly and helped me diagnose the problem - a defective controller board.
