Constantly throwing codes

Control panel wouldn’t update causing the grill to throw codes. Called pit boss and got a new controller panel, this one updated but still throws malfunction codes. Nothing that’s been replaced on this grill has fixed anything, the grill is obviously a lemon but I’m not able to get a refund or replacement as I bought it during winter and didn’t start trying to use it until spring, putting me out of the return window. Now it’s just an expensive garage ornament. Will be switching to a Traeger.

Awesome Grill

This is a fantastic Grill; I have had this grill going on 2 years and it has always fired right up and got the job done with perfection. I like the fact the top 2 racks slide out to load food. Best part of it, the ignitor went out just recently and they warrantied without hassle. I wasn't sure of the problem, so I called customer service and spoke with Jen which handled my process efficiently and professionally.

Do not recommend!

Bought this grill and cooked on it once. Cooked great. Hurricane came along and blew the cover off the grill and filled the hopper with water. Pellets expanded and created a concrete type obstruction all the way down the auger. After attempting to disassemble to clean and access the motor to manually turn the auger, I realized there was no real way to do it. I was in the market for a new grill and ran across the model at Lowes. After doing some research and watching reviews on youtube; i had some doubt of buying, but decided to go with the purchase anyways, because figured it would not happen to me. Expensive at MSRP and needs a few modifications

At this price, the grill better be perfect. This grill has a lot of positives going for it so I am going to stick with what is missing. the bottom grates need to be pullout. And they need to be in sections so they can be pulled out more easily. The pellet guard is a pain and needs to be redesigned/removed. Found the pellets are sliding down the sides like they should and you have to try and stick a long stick in the whole to give the pellets a jostle. For those of you that have problems...

Nothing but problems

Since buying this pellet grill it has been nothing but problems. I’m on my 3rd auger motor, first 2 failed. Temperature sensor failed. Grill still struggles to maintain temperature. This has been by far the worst pellet grill I have owned. I have asked Pitboss to replace my grill since it’s clearly a defective and they denied my request. With all the other pellet grills out there I will never purchase another Pitboss grill. Build quality and customer service is garbage

Buyer Beware

I spent a lot of time researching pellet grills and settled on the Pit Boss 1600 Pro. I purchased it last September and never really got the chance to use it very much. I broke it out this year and we very happy with it until the ignitor went out. I have never had a company jerk me around like this one. It's been 3+ weeks and they can't tell me when they are going to ship it. In the meantime I have an expensive boat anchor on my hands. I've called 4 times and get the same answer each time...
