I had high hopes for this Pit Boss smoker, but my experience has been disappointing from the moment I opened the box. Right out of the packaging, the inner liner was improperly installed. The screws on one side were stripped, installed at an angle, and one screw was loose in the bottom of the smoker. The location where that screw should have gone had a rivet instead, which makes me question the quality control during manufacturing. It has never worked properly
From my first cook the temperature swings were around 190 degrees. I called customer support and they told me it was the thermostat. They sent me a new one. Still didn’t work and occasionally had error codes. They said it was the control panel. That’s didn’t fix it. I’ve used the smoker about 12 times over the past year and I’ve never had a problem free cook. This is the worst grill or smoker I’ve ever owned and I wish they would give me my money back.

First looks
Haven’t turned it on yet, only just put it together and there are some minor things that have happened already, out of the box I noticed chipped paint on the top of the smoke box, the chimney stem was welded to the cover off center so it didn’t really sit right. The cross bar on the chimney is tack welded on one side and only half welded on the other. Worst smoker, worst customer service
I’ve owned this smoker for three years and have had nothing but problems with it. The otter continuously jams up and then either turns off the smoker or burns out the motor. I’ve taken this thing apart no less than 20 times and installed new parts from pit boss. They won’t just replace this lemon. The tube or the auger goes in to feed the pellets is not concentric with the auger so it jams up very easily. Lowe’s was no help either. We’ll never buy another pit boss product again.
