I mounted this to the concrete foundation of my front porch (use a hammer drill, trust me). I pulled out about 50 feet of hose and it came out very easily. I used the hose all over my yard. Great hose, good recoil
Got this to replace several 3/4" hoses tied together that was always a messy chore putting back up on the rack. This reel works great ( don't pull the thing out so much that it won't recoil, theres an indicator on the hose that lets you know when you've pulled it out maximally). It has a strong spring and you can store the whole 100' of hose in about 10 seconds. The swivel feature is nice. Its a half inch hose so the flow will be less than 3/4" hose. Installation was quite easy. Due to the weight of the hose and reel I installed a section of 2x4 below the wall bracket and secured the handle above with a short bungee cord. Hopefully this will prevent any cracking of the wall mount such as others have experienced. I reeled it out for quite a distance, and let the spring device rewind the hose. Waste of money!
It won’t reel back in at all if there’s ANY water which is annoying but fine. But the last 6 feet of hose (from the sprayer part) won’t reel back in AT ALL and it takes forever to get the rest of it in. You’ll spend way too much time trying to get it back in and it still won’t work. Good in theory but I’m so disappointed at what a waste of money it was because it doesn’t work!!!

THIS PRODUCT LEAKS
In theory this product would be worth giving a try but it is not build well. You would think that it would last at least a few seasons especially in New York since it winterized for half the year. I would never buy again because the company AMES does not stand by their product and it warranty promise. I would recommend spending the extra money on a Suncast Product as their customer service will protect your investment.
Get other masonry anchors!
I bought two of these hose reels for my home. The first installation on the exterior of a wood shed went well. The second installation on a brick wall did not. The instructions said use a 3/8" masonry bit but the anchors were larger. After increasing the bit and buying new anchors everything worked fine. Otherwise the reel works fine and seems to be very durable. Just don't use the included masonry anchors and buy some new ones.

You gotta have one!
I bought this for a few different reasons. This thing cured both of my problems. I got tired of wasting time unrolling the hose and rolling it back up just to water my plants. This cut that time in half, which makes me want to water my plants again. It was horrible to think of wasting all that time , now I just pull the hose out, water, then it rolls itself back up! Incredible!!! The other reason is my wife couldn’t operate a regular hose, and now she can.

We built our retirement home on the Oregon Coast 2 years ago. Our front yard faces a curved street and is 120' wide. No complaints! We had a similar one from Frontline with a 100 ft hose, and it lasted 12 years by taking it inside prior to any freeze. It had all plastic components. With Neverleak's aluminum components, we're hoping for similar or even extended longevity. Of course it is new, and the stops for extending the hose work smoothly and lock better than our older non-Neverleak unit ever did. Kudos!. RUST!! Don’t know how long they will last.
I purchased 3 of these and they were a great idea. I installed them and that was easy. Now they have been up for a few months and the hardware is all starting to rust all of the exposed metal has rust on it. So, i dont know how long these are going to last. Given the price i was hoping for better hardware and a long life. Other than the rust it works wonderfully.
