Uneven finish..+micro bubbles..after slowly stirring,,,applying extremely methodically and slowly with brush!!...sanding 1000# grit in-between coats. Been using Minwax urethane for 30 years Unless you're doing an outdoor project and don't care about the feeling of the finish, This is NOT for furniture that requires a clean smooth finish!!!

Great Finish

I’m usually not a huge fan of Polyurethane, but I decided to use this one for a new work bench and it actually surprised me. The Warm Flat tone looks great on the Maple Plywood top and then adds a nice contrast on the pine edge boards. It was extremely easy to apply and it was very forgiving. Cheaper doesn’t mean lease quality with Minwax

It worked better this oil based version on my project than the water based version with a paint brush. Using sprayer may be a different story; however, for this wood project, the oil based was perfect and left no bubbles or streaks.

Disappointed in product

I am in the process of finishing cabinets, I have put 2 coats on them and am not happy at all. I am not getting the finish I am trying to achieve. Almost 2o years ago I used the same product or so I am being told from the store in which I purchased this product. I am using now the premium oil fast drying polyurethane warm semi gloss and before I used the fast-drying polyurethane superior durability clear semi- gloss. What I am trying to figure out has the product changed that much?

Dries in the can even when sealed!

I purchased a can about a year ago, used some from the can on a couple of projects. Sealed it fully, and kept it in a climate controlled garage. When I opened the can today, there was a thick hard shell on top! I broke through it with a screwdriver, and the entire rest of the can was the consistency of honey mixed with jello. Dries well fast

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Minwax fast-drying Polyurethane ultra flat works great because it dries fast. If you want to to a second coat you can do it same day. I liked the instructions in the back. They even have visual direction. Nice size print and it’s dark enough you can read it without hunting for reading glasses. It’s important that you mix well. Indoor protection

Excellent coverage and only required one coat to get the effect and protection I was looking for. Rated for only indoor projects, but could definitely protect your finished restoration work.
