Not a “normal” install process but a great fan!
I installed the white version of this fan, ordered last week and no longer available! I know this because I want to replace an older fan with this one and white is no longer available. That being said I can only think of one negative: the light is a self-enclosed LED unit and will probably cost a lot if it needs to be replaced. Someone messed up.
After a challenging (but pretty straightforward) two hours of holding my arms above my head installing this fan, I had completed the hardest part- or so I thought. When I went to install the light kit to the mounting ring, the two screws I was supposed to just “loosen” were impossible to remove, let alone loosen. I don’t normally write reviews but considering this fan has one horrible review I figured I should give my 2 cents. The wife and I chose this model because we liked the compact design and style. worst written instuctions Ive ever seen
So bad that I gave up The wiring instructions tell you to connect black to black. Simple enough but problem is there is no black wire in the fan. The picture provided looks like it tells you to connect all the wires together. There is never mention of a receiver when trying to wire it so I packed it up and was resdh to return it. Worth the effort on the install
While the install was fairly difficult myself for the first time I learned a lot and after I got the wires trimmed short enough to get everything in the housing I was very pleased with the end result. The 6 speeds are very nice with the first being almost too slow and the last being almost two high the 4 in the middle we use quite a bit. Runs silent, great airflow, bright light
We have had this fan for just about a week. First impression is stellar! It is virtually silent when running, the light is substantially brighter than I expected- lights up our whole room, and the air flow is great! Installation was fairly easy (my husband and dad installed it- neither are electricians). Their biggest complaint was the difficulty of fitting all the wires in the canopy on the ceiling. Looks great but has many problems
Looks great, but has problems: Remote control not very sensitive and hard to use, you have stand under the fan and hold it up over your head and then sometimes it will react to a click, but often not. The fan has a low speed only in one direction. If you change the direction of the fan (for winter vs summer use), the lowest speed setting is quite fast, you can't get all 6 speeds. There is some noise at lower speeds, although not at medium. Installation was difficult , instructions not very clear...

Great Value
This brand was recommended to me by an electrician. Required a special order since local store did not stock. Initially charged a small shipping charge which was reversed and another $10 gift card added. Received in less than a week. Product was assembled and installed by electricans. 5 speeds with an excellent light, spin option and remote control is tough to find at this price point. Set the spin at clockwise to move cool air from an air conditioner. Works well along with being quiet.

Excellent fan!
We purchased this fan as a replacement for an old one that came with our house. We are so pleased with it. The install was not an issue for our handyman and since then, it's run perfectly. We did talk to customer service at Minka Aire about a couple questions and their customer service was exemplary. I highly recommend their products and not just for the product. It is hard to find customer service today that actually listens to the customer!
Great fan
I am replacing a 25 year old fan. There are a lot of wires to couple, but they are ALL color coded. Anybody with a little common sense and experience with changing a light fixture can figure it out. It is a tight fit for all of the wires and wire nuts, but not impossible. The fan and light work great. I am buying a second one for my bedroom.
